📌 IMPORTANT 2026 MARYLAND GENERAL ELECTION DATES

🗓️ October 13 — Deadline to register to vote in advance of the General Election
🗓️ October 22–29 — Early Voting | 7:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m.
🗓️ October 27 — Deadline to request a mail-in ballot to receive it by mail or fax
🗓️ October 30 — Deadline to request a print-at-home mail-in ballot
🗓️ November 3 — ELECTION DAY | Polls open 7:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m.

National Voter Education Week | October 5–9, 2026

This National Voter Education Week, the Baltimore (MD) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated honors the legacy of Fannie Lou Hamer, whose courage and determination helped advance the fundamental right to participate in our democracy.

Her legacy reminds us that voting rights are not simply a privilege, they are a cornerstone of civic engagement and community voice.

This week, take time to get informed, know your rights, understand your ballot, and make your voice heard.

🎀 OCTOBER IS BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH 🎀

The Baltimore (MD) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated joins women, families, survivors, caregivers, and communities across the country in recognizing Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Awareness matters. Early detection matters. Knowing the facts matters.

💕 About 1 in 8 women in the United States will develop breast cancer during her lifetime.

💕 In 2026, an estimated 321,910 women will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in the United States.

💕 An estimated 42,140 women will die from breast cancer this year.

💕 Breast cancer is the second-leading cause of cancer death among women in the United States. For non-Hispanic Black women, it is the leading cause of cancer death.

💕 There is also reason for hope: breast cancer death rates have declined 44% since 1989, reflecting decades of progress in detection and treatment.

💕 And early detection remains critically important. About 2 out of 3 breast cancers are diagnosed while the cancer is still localized, and survival is substantially higher when breast cancer is found before it spreads.

This month, we encourage every woman to know her risk, know her body, talk with her healthcare provider about appropriate screening, and encourage the women she loves to do the same.

Support. Encourage. Advocate.
Because early detection can save lives. 🎀

Today, we celebrate the 78th Anniversary of the Baltimore (MD) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, chartered on September 24, 1948.

For 78 years, extraordinary women have joined together in friendship and service, creating a legacy of impact in our beloved Baltimore community and beyond.

The Chapter is proud to be part of a sisterhood rooted in friendship, service, leadership, and purpose,,and grateful for those who came before us and paved the way.

Here’s to honoring the legacy, celebrating the journey, and continuing the work.

On September 10, the Baltimore (MD) Links joined forces with the residents of Pleasant View Gardens, the Baltimore City Board of Elections, and the Baltimore City Housing Authority for a collaborative voter engagement effort focused on ensuring residents have the information and resources they need to participate in our democracy.
