Johns Hopkins University ACTU Community Advisory Board The Community Advisory Board (CAB) is crucial in the development of successful clinical trials. The CAB has three main goals:

CAB members take research and treatment information to their community and relay community concerns to researchers. At the Johns Hopkins University AIDS Clinical Trials Group (ACTG), the CAB also acts as liaisons to the community in order to educate people about participation in clinical trials. The CAB may also choose to organize educational events for the community focusing on raising awareness

and encouraging volunteer participation. To help trial investigators and staff better understand the needs and concerns of
people with HIV and AIDS

2. To help people with HIV and AIDS better understand clinical trials

3. To Improve access to trials so that everyone may benefit from their findings
