The Baltimore Area Council's very own Deputy Scout Executive, Manny Fonseca, was on FOX 45 this morning supporting our Scouting for Food Campaign as we continue to help our local food pantries throughout our communities in Central Maryland. Over the years, this campaign has collected over 45 million pounds of food donations!!

2017 PHILMONT COUNCIL CONTINGENT OPENINGS
Philmont Scout Ranch provides an unforgettable adventure along its hundreds of miles of rugged trails in New Mexico's Sangre de Christo mountains.The Baltimore Area Council will send two Council Contingents to Philmont during the summer of 2017. The first Contingent dates are July 11-24, 2017; and the second Contingent dates are July 13-26, 2017.

CAMP CARD TIP:
The units who are selling the most cards tend to be the ones doing booth sales, or “Show-and-Sells.”
To set up your own booth sale, contact your local Safeway, Royal Farms, Modell’s, or other coupon partner and ask if your Scouts can set up a table in front of their store to sell cards for a couple hours on a weekend.
A lot of units are selling in excess of 50 cards per hour per store using this method.

We are officially one month into the 2016 Camp Card Sale and the reported success has been astonishing!
We would like to give a shout out to a few of our top-sellers to date:
- Troop 1231 (Carroll) has sold more than 500 cards
- Troop 887 (Four Rivers) has sold more than 500 cards
- Troop 419 (Dulaney) has sold more than 700 cards
- Troop 247 (Dulaney) has sold more than 700 cards
- Troop 396 (The Capitol) has sold nearly 1,000 cards
