The annual steel demand from U.S. offshore wind is staggering: enough plate steel to build the Golden Gate Bridge 12 times. If the U.S. captures this opportunity, we can unlock:

📈 $42B in economic value
👷‍♂️ 186,000 jobs
🏗️ Dozens of fabrication facilities injecting nearly $1B each into local economies

But without a secure pipeline of projects and clear permitting pathways, we capture only 10% of this potential — just $3.8B and 18,000 jobs. This is a once‑in‑a‑generation industrial opportunity. We can’t miss it.

Join Oceantic Network for a timely webinar unpacking the findings from our new report, Strengthening the Backbone of American Energy, which examines U.S. domestic steel manufacturing capacity needed to support the rapid growth of offshore wind.

📅 March 11, 2026
⏰ 1 p.m. ET
💻 Virtual | Free to attend

As offshore wind scales, so does the demand for American‑made steel. This one-hour webinar will provide data‑driven insights into how U.S. steelmakers can meet market needs, where new investment opportunities are emerging, and how strengthened domestic supply chains can bolster U.S. energy security.

Topics we’ll cover:
• Current and future U.S. steelmaking capacity
• Demand drivers from offshore wind project development
• Opportunities for domestic manufacturers and suppliers
• Policy and market signals shaping the steel + offshore wind landscape

If you work in manufacturing, offshore wind, energy policy, or supply chain development, you won’t want to miss this conversation.

🚀 New on the Oceantic Blog: A Defining Moment for Offshore Wind

At 2026 IPF in New York City, Oceantic CEO Liz Burdock delivered a powerful speech on where the offshore wind industry stands—and what it will take to reimagine, renew, and reignite America’s ocean renewables future.

From navigating unprecedented disruption to rebuilding confidence through real-world performance and data, the message was clear: this is the industry’s moment to lead.

to two weeks ago. We're reminded that it’s the people who make this conference what it is. Yes, the content, announcements, and milestones matter. But it’s the energy, dedication, and community that bring both IPF and the industry to life year after year.

From packed workshops and standout speakers, to the receptions buzzing with new partnerships and old friends reconnecting, this year's IPF was a reminder of how strong and resilient this industry is. And of course, hats off to everyone who braved the elements for the ferry tour, laced up for the early‑morning fun run, or simply showed up ready to contribute, learn, and move the offshore renewables industry forward.

Every moment of IPF Week was shaped by the people committed to building the future of offshore wind. Take a look at some of our favorite photos! 🌊💡

💡 2026 IPF Topic Preview: Offshore Engineering Research & Innovation🌊

Designing and maintaining large-scale offshore renewable energy structures is no small feat. And as offshore renewable energy development accelerates, so does the desire to continually improve and refine approaches to engineering and construction.
In these two workshops, speakers representing leading academic institutions will share new research on structural engineering and grid resiliency. They’ll discuss approaches to ensuring offshore energy infrastructure can withstand extreme weather events and highlight innovations that are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in harsh marine environments.

🎉 Also, for the first time at IPF, attendees at these sessions will have the opportunity to receive Continuing Education Units, as part of Oceantic’s recent IACET accreditation.
