We’ll have a John Waters mixtape going in the back bar chockfull of archival material culled from MARMIA’s own collections, plus Mary Vivian Pearce (Princess Coo-Coo) and George Figgs (Herbert) will be hanging out!

Join us at Warehouse Cinemas’ Rotunda location on Wednesday, August 19th, as we co-host a very special Mondo Baltimore screening! This is your chance to watch a previously lost Maryland oddity that hasn’t been seen since its original release… MARMIA’s Preservation Coordinator and Vinegar Syndrome’s Archive Director will be hanging out all night long—come pick their brains about everything film archiving!

We are super excited for Mondo Baltimore Presents: Vinegar Syndrome Mystery Movie! Oscar Becher from Vinegar Syndrome will be joining us in person to talk about the restoration of this formerly lost made in Maryland film by a local artist that just needed to get this story out of his head & onto celluloid. Austin Miller from the Mid-Atlantic Regional Moving Image Archive will be joining us as well.

Huge thank you to those who came out yesterday for our last Community Archiving Workshop for the Mellon-funded Interface grant, which is winding down in March. We are working on MARMIA collections for this one, some additional boxes from the WJZ collection given to us only a few years ago. We got 6 smaller boxes rehoused into 3 larger archival boxes and now have better intellectual control over those items!
