On behalf of the Spencer Grace Foundation and our Board, we are proud to report that this week we donated an additional $12,000 to the Johns Hopkins Children’s Hospital for pediatric brain tumor research. Through a program with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, our donation will be matched to make the total amount $24,000. This would not be possible without our partnership with Grace Preschool in Baltimore, who hosted “Cycle for Spencer” this past spring, and whose administrators joined us to present the check to Dr. Eric Raabe in person. We remain humbled by the outpouring of love and support from the community, and thank all of our supporters for allowing us to remember Spencer in such a special way. Also, kudos to Emerson Tully who raised $322 at her cider stand this fall in honor of her big sister! Thank you to everyone; we are truly making a difference! Luctor et emergo.

We are so excited to kick off Cycles for Spencer with Grace Preschool! Our family has been part of the wonderful Grace community for over 3 years and are honored to partner with them to raise money for The Spencer Grace Foundation. Over the next two weeks the kids at Grace will help raise money to support pediatric cancer research at Johns Hopkins. The event will conclude with the kids cycling or scooting their hearts out to help other children! Please join us in supporting this great cause!! 2020 has been a hard year for us all, and we are sympathetic to those who have suffered and continue to suffer during these unprecedented times. At SGF, we have decided to cancel all 2020 events due the COVID-19 pandemic. This decision was not made lightly; however, the health and safety of our family, friends and community will always be our first priority.

Even though we are not hosting in-person events in 2020, SGF is participating in the Million Mile Challenge with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation as part of the Baltimore Brain Tumor Bashers. You can join the challenge by running, walking or biking or you can opt to donate to the cause. If anyone is interested in joining or supporting this event, please see the attached link:

Thank you so much for your continued support! We hope to see everyone soon!

We hope that everyone is staying safe and well during this difficult time. Due to the ongoing pandemic, we have postponed Strides for Spencer 2020 from our usual time in May. We are actively working with the Gilman School and our sponsors, and hope to announce a new date for the fall. Thank you for your continued support and commitment to fund research. Stay safe and we are keeping everyone in our thoughts!

Yesterday, in honor of pediatric cancer awareness month, the Spencer Grace Foundation donated another $18,000 towards pediatric brain tumor research. The donation was part of Alex’s Lemonade Stand’s Baltimore Brain Tumor Bashers Million Mile 2019, which directly benefits the Johns Hopkins Brain and Eye Tumor Laboratory. As part of this event, Alex’s Lemonade Stand matches our donation, resulting in $36,000 in funds for critical research into
new treatments. We are proud to make this donation, and extremely grateful to so many organizations and individuals that have embraced our cause. I personally would like to thank: the Gilman School; the SGF Board (Jennifer, Jessica, Jamie, Matt, Evan, Faye, Mike); Network Building & Consulting LLC; the Miles & Stockbridge Foundation; the Tully Firm; the Nutcracker Classic Foundation; Jane Schoonover and One Hope; the Baltimore Ravens and Rob Tune; Cummings & Co Realtors; Terra’s Kitchen; Terrain Title and David Miller; Nikki Baker; Barb Clapp; Downstream Mfg & Outfitters; VAMortgage.com; and our family members and friends who have spent countless
hours in support of SGF and our events. My sincere apologies if I’ve inadvertently omitted
anyone. Thanks again to everyone!!!!

It’s difficult to read...but it’s the reality and we hope one day we see better treatments options for children!
