What a YEAR! It’s been! FayFay’s Story Station began as a tribute to Lia’s son—after discovering our boys shared the nickname “FayFay” and a love of reading—and grew with support from our community moms’ group and then Johns Hopkins Children's Center’s 2025 Radiothon Grant!

In just one year, we’ve given away more than 4,000 books to our patients and their families. What started as a small idea has become a valued part of our emergency department, and we hope to carry this momentum into 2026 with continued support.

Our next goals include creating a more permanent space with official JH signage and expanding our offerings to include:
Books for older children and young adults
Tactile and sensory‑friendly books
Coloring and meditative items

We continue to happily accept donations and books!

We are grateful for any contributions that help us increase children’s access to reading. We plan to continue to grow our program ans welcome other opportunities to sustain this work.

We have given out more than 300 books since our little idea took flight! Thank you to all our generous donors! We are now ready for our next round of donations!

Gently used or new children’s books, including:
- baby board books
- paper and hard back
- all ages groups, include teen and young adult
- if you aren’t sure, please send and we will sort!

Thank you in advance for helping support our “little engine that could!” We love supporting our patients and their love for reading!

Books have started to come in! Thankful for your generosity. After these get our new stickers, they will be the first books loaded into the Story Station!

Hi there! This is the page of a newly launched book donation program!

Lia and Sarah work together and soon after they met, they formed a connection over the shared loving nickname they call their sons! (Although FayFay and FeFe as spelled different)

Lia's son was tragically taken from us in 2024, and we thought that sharing his love of reading was an amazing way to honor him. FayFay's story station was born and we would love your to make this project a success!

Now accepting new and gently loved books! From board books through young adults, we hope to support literacy and reading to our pediatrics patients in Baltimore!

These books will be free for patients and families to take during their care at Johns Hopkins Pediatric Emergency Room. So, please join us in sharing the love.
