Good morning, Justin here with JPride Baltimore! Grateful to wish you a happy and meaningful Trans Day of Visibility being celebrated today at City Hall (the day is on Tuesday, March 31). JPride Board Member Rebecca Mark, who is the Jewish Community Liaison with the Mayor’s Office of Community Affairs, invites you to say hello! She writes: This gathering is an opportunity for us to honor and uplift Baltimore’s transgender community while reaffirming our city’s ongoing commitment to dignity, equity, and visibility for all. In a time when many in the trans community are navigating uncertainty, it is important that our local leadership continues to stand in solidarity and affirmation.

SABBATH QUEEN FILM SCREENING AND TALKBACK 3/19/26
Presented by Third Space at Shaarei Tfiloh in partnership with Chizuk Amuno Congregation and Schools & Camps and Keshet | For LGBTQ Equality in Jewish Life:

THU MAR 19 7:00PM
Charles Theatre | 1711 N Charles Street
$18 – 36
Sandi DuBowski (director) and Rabbi Amichai Lau Lavie (film subject)

Join us on March 19 at 7:00 PM, where Third Space will be screening Sabbath Queen at The Charles Theatre, followed by a conversation with director Sandi DuBowski and the film’s subject, Rabbi Amichai Lau-Lavie.

Filmed over 21 years, Sabbath Queen traces Rabbi Amichai Lau-Lavie’s remarkable journey as the heir to 38 generations of Orthodox rabbis, including the Chief Rabbis of Israel. Wrestling with tradition and transformation, he becomes a drag-queen rebel, a q***r bio-dad, and the founder of Lab/Shul, an artist-driven, everybody-friendly, God-optional experimental congregation.

The film follows Amichai’s lifelong effort to creatively and courageously reimagine religion and ritual, challenging patriarchy and supremacy, championing interfaith love, and exploring what Jewish survival means in a rapidly changing 21st century.
