This Initiative engages community stakeholders, university students, faculty and staff in inclusive, democratic and participatory processes that result in mutually defined community plans and projects, measurable outcomes, and positive community impact. The Morgan Community Mile Initiative held a series of task force planning sessions from October 2012 through December 2012 to establish a genuine

partnership between Morgan State University and the surrounding communities. During these meetings, the Morgan State University leadership in concert with community partners, residents, businesses, public officials and other stakeholders were able to identify specific strategic goals and objectives based on community needs.
