A light that continues to shine. ✨
Last weekend, the Urban Choral Arts Society gathered to record This Little Light of Mine, a collection of Spirituals by Colin Lett inspired by the legacy of his grandmother, Dorothy Cleggs Micou.
These images capture one of the treasured elders of our intergenerational ensemble, Etta Russell-Scott, pouring a lifetime of faith, resilience, and artistry into every note. This is why we preserve Spirituals. They are living testimonies passed from one generation to the next.
The Urban Choral Arts Society is honored to create spaces where elders and young people learn from one another, ensuring these stories, traditions, and voices continue to shine.
