Dear Little Lacrosse Academy Families,

2020 has undoubtedly been a year of the unexpected.

Like many of you, I am still struggling with prioritizing the health and wellness of my family while establishing some sense of normalcy in our daily routines and activities. What I thought would only be a few weeks of this delicate balance, has turned into months, with no foreseeable changes in the immediate future. Schools are going largely virtual this September, many parents (like my husband and I) remain working from home through the remainder of the year, and state and federal guidelines and protocols remain firmly intact.

While the above alone presents its own challenges as a business owner, it is my role as a mom and daughter that has ultimately led me to the decision to postpone the Little Lacrosse Academy’s programming in the majority of our locations (to include Annapolis, Canton, Hampstead, Severn, Severna Park) until the spring of 2021. Please know that this was not an easy decision. The Little Lacrosse Academy has been a labor of love for me these past two years and I was beyond excited to continue to expand our programming in 2020. But, as the mom of two young boys, five months pregnant, and dealing with my dad’s recent cancer diagnosis, the health and safety of my family (and yours) takes precedence.

The Little Lacrosse Academy will return to the field (and the fun!) when it is safe to do so. I hope that many of you will still be there when we do and I will certainly keep you abreast of those developments as the time nears. In the meantime, please keep an eye on your inboxes for any outstanding business as it relates to the spring 2020 season.

Questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Otherwise, thank you for your continued support.

Best,
Cat

We've been quiet this week and for that we apologize. Like many of you, we've been trying to navigate uncharted territory.

For our Coppermine (4 Seasons, Cross Keys, DuBurns) families, classes are still ON this weekend. Please see below for the procedures and protocols we've put in place for our staff, families, and customers.

For all of our other locations and families, please hold tight, we'll update you in the next 24 hours regarding those programs. Each location and session is being independently evaluated based on the facility. We appreciate your flexibility and understanding in this time of uncertainty.

Our Story

At the Little Lacrosse Academy we are extremely passionate about the sport of lacrosse. So much so, that we have dedicated our energy and enthusiasm to our youngest generation of future athletes. Our mission is to make learning the fastest growing sport in America simple, safe, and, most importantly, fun for boys and girls aged eighteen months to five years old.

The Little Lacrosse Academy is the passion project of Cat Thoreson (Hofstra ‘09), a former collegiate coach and mom to two rambunctious toddlers. Determined to create a program for her children that shared her love of the sport as well as aided in their development, coordination, and social growth, the Little Lacrosse Academy was born. Classes kicked off in March of 2018 and, well, the rest is kind of history.
