Friends of Stony Run

Friends of Stony Run Friends of Stony Run focuses on long-term stewardship of the Stony Run Stream Valley in Baltimore.

We are a volunteer-based organization that initiates stream cleanups and programs to improve the health of the stream valley and enhance the quality of life in the surrounding community. One of our major accomplishments was the creation of a continuous walking path from the Jones Falls Trail to north Baltimore along the original Ma & Pa Railroad Line.

W**d Warriors around the Ponds Saturday
Saturday, May 16th
10 am

Join the Stony Run's volunteer W**d Warriors this Saturday May 16th at 10am - 36th St. and Beech Avenue

We’ll be continuing to help establish a productive native ecosystem in a really awesome area of Wyman Park.

These ponds are actually a stormwater management facility that DPW built several years ago. The native vegetation needs our help to continue to take hold amidst non-native invasive (NNI) vegetation.

Bring your own tools and gloves or borrow ours. Or just come to meet us and learn a thing or two about what's growing in Wyman Park.

This month's w**d warriors event is a bamboo blitz -- all are welcome! We'll remove bamboo to improve conditions around this popular playground. Take home some cut bamboo and create a cool garden trellis or nifty bee house. It's a win-win-win! See flier for details. Please sign up here https://linktr.ee/friendsstonyrun **dwarriors

You may have noticed the work of our W**d Warriors over the last 5 years. We work to beautify the Stony Run stream valley and promote Biodiversity.

The events are open to all, not just certified W**d Warriors.

THIS SATURDAY November 15th at 10am - 36th St. and Beech Avenue:
We’ll be helping to establish a productive native ecosystem in a really awesome area. It’s a bio-retention pond facility that DPW built years ago in Wyman Park. It’s a series of ponds with native vegetation. The native vegetation is still growing there, but it really needs our help to continue to rise above the invasives.
