Today we celebrate freedom, resilience, culture, and the enduring strength of the African American community.
Juneteenth marks June 19, 1865…the day news of emancipation finally reached enslaved people in Texas, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. It is a powerful reminder of how far we’ve come and the work that continues to build a more hopeful future.
At City of Refuge Baltimore, we believe every neighbor deserves dignity, opportunity, and the chance to thrive. Today we celebrate the rich history, contributions, and legacy that continue to shape our communities.

Today we had the honor of welcoming Seattle Mariners’ very own Patrick Wisdom and Sam Reinertsen to City of Refuge Baltimore as they spent part of their day serving in our Food Pantry and helping distribute lunches to our neighbors before tonight’s game against the Baltimore Orioles.
Thank you to Patrick, Sam, and Big Impact League for your generosity, servant hearts, and willingness to use your platform to make a difference in our community. Your kindness and humility were a blessing to everyone you encountered today.
We are grateful for partners who understand that true impact happens both on and off the field. 🧡🧡

Join the Greater Baybrook Alliance for a community-wide Spring Cleaning event at Garrett Park. Whether you can help for an hour or the entire event, every hand makes a difference.

📱 Learn how to use the 311 App, participate in quick tutorials, and help submit neighborhood service requests.

🧹 Community clean-up event! Participants who submit 3 service cases will be entered into a raffle to win a TV.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 All ages are welcome. Bring your family, friends, and neighbors as we work together to create a cleaner, safer community for everyone.
