Last week, BGJWC and other Clean Green & Beautiful Baltimore Community Change Collaborative (CG2B3C) partners held our first inaugural Environmental, Environmental Justice & Climate Justice All-Candidates' Forum!

A special THANK YOU to CG2B3C partners for helping to coordinate this event and to CDN (Community Development Network of MD) of Maryland, CCAN (Chesapeake Climate Action Network) and Dr. Sacoby Wilson of CEEJH for being co-sponsors of this event. It's one thing to say you support grassroots environmental justice action, but it's a different thing to invest in grassroots environmental justice action. BGJWC wants to extend public thanks to CCAN & CDN for sowing their financial support and to Dr. Wilson for CEEJH's pro bono support! 🥰

Kudos to the Baltimore City Board of Elections for sending a rep to host voter registration. Some people registered to vote at this event. 🤩 Kudos also to those candidates who not only followed the RSVP and registration process to participate in this event but who actually showed up in-person to engage and participate with attendees. Lastly, a special thank you to residents of Baltimore City who participated. This is Baltimore Rising!

YES!!!! We have another GED graduate! This adult learner, Janice Wheeler Ridgley, has an AMAZING testimony about her adult literacy journey. BGJWC is so honored to have shared the responsibility of providing educational support to Mrs. Ridgley with The North Avenue Learning Initiative/City of Abraham Church & Ministries and South Baltimore Learning Center.

It takes a village to raise children, and it takes a village to provide adults in the lives of children with supportive services that create pathways for generational wealth. Mrs. Ridgley deserves the two graduations that will honor her perseverance, tenacity and strength in pressing her way over the years to achieve this important milestone! This is Baltimore Rising!
