Happy National Dog Day! 🐾💛

For many of our clients, pets provide more than companionship. They offer comfort, routine and a familiar presence that can help reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation.

That’s why our Kibble Connections program helps clients care for the pets who mean so much to them by delivering pet food right to their homes.

For one client, that support helps make sure her dog, Carly, has the food she needs without the difficulty of making a trip to the store.

This National Dog Day, we’re celebrating the four-legged companions who bring so much joy to our clients’ lives! 💙

For one caregiver, that impact has been seen firsthand. Since their loved one began receiving consistent, nutritious meals, they’ve noticed significant improvements in their blood sugar levels and overall well-being.

At Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland, home-delivered meals are about more than making sure there’s food on the table. They can help support healthy aging, chronic disease management, independence and the ability to remain safely at home.

Meet Detria, one of our Client Engagement Specialists! 💙

Our Client Engagement Team is often the first point of contact for clients, caregivers and families who reach out to Meals on Wheels. From answering questions to helping clients navigate their services, this team works behind the scenes to make sure the homebound neighbors we serve have the support they need.

And they stay busy! The team receives an incredible 5,000–6,000 calls every month. 🤯

For an older adult experiencing isolation, even a small reminder that someone is thinking of them can mean so much. 💙

That’s the heart behind 17-year-old Aiden’s Eagle Scout project. Alongside Boy Scout Troop 380, Aiden raised more than $4,000 and filled 50 gift bags for Meals on Wheels clients in Carroll County.

Thank you, Aiden and Troop 380, for helping us remind older adults in our community that they are not alone, one gift bag at a time! 💙
