Imagine this .... attending a four-day, power-packed conference last week of like-minded women leaders representing 130 countries, including the U.S. would still spark such enthusiasm today! Representing Dress for Success Greater Baltimore during this conference was an honor. I was able to gather insightful information and met new DFS Global CEO Joanie Bily while learning new ideas with ignited thought for innovation. What is so exciting are the new friends, new connections I have made... from London to Slovenia, and I look forward to future collaborations with DFS Philadelphia to DFS Washington D.C... dynamic women doing great things to support women, empowering them to succeed.

Thank you, DFS!

Thank you for creating an incredible platform deemed as the “Project Runway” of Baltimore, Runway Revolution (RR). RR, well-curated by Chief Fashion Officer , celebrated its third season highlighting the creative talents of up-and-coming fashion designers in Baltimore. After completing 12 weeks of challenging work, six designers were able to feature their innovative designs with intricate details, seeing their vision come to life on the runway. What added to this excitement is that nearly all of the designers were new at sewing!

Representing , I had the pleasure of participating as one of several models in the Runway Revolution Student Fashion Showcase held on Saturday, August 16. My designer Celia Saygbay created a line, Inside/Out, with an African-inspired flair. The A-line dress I wore would take you from a stylish office look in gold velvet and green, transforming to a polished evening look in deep red satin and gold. A reversible bag and belt matched each side, setting off a complimented ensemble. Celia was one of three designers picked to win as a top designer. She won the “Audience Choice” award for her line.
