This past Friday, our fourth graders traded the classroom for the court and got to experience padel at B'more Padel! ๐ŸŽพ

Our students had the chance to try something new, learn the basics of the game, and enjoy an active afternoon together. Experiences like these give our students opportunities to build confidence, teamwork, and curiosity beyond the classroom.

A big thank you to B'more Padel for welcoming our students and giving them such a fun experience!

Fall is officially here! ๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿ

Our 2s class took a nature walk to explore the signs of the season, from changing leaves to all the colors and textures fall brings.

There is so much to discover when learning takes us outside! ๐Ÿ’š

Weโ€™re off to a sharp start at The Loyola School! โœ๏ธ๐Ÿ“š

Our students are back in the classroom with bright smiles, thoughtful questions, and curious minds ready to learn, grow, and take on something new.

One year ago today. ๐Ÿ’š

On September 10, 2025, The Loyola School community gathered for a day we had dreamed about for years: the blessing and ribbon cutting of our new elementary school building at 802 North Calvert Street.

Surrounded by our students, families, friends, supporters, clergy, and members of our community, we celebrated the opening of a building created for our students to learn, grow, discover, and thrive.

A year later, so much has changed. The halls are filled with artwork. The classrooms are filled with books, materials, projects, and the everyday signs of learning. Most importantly, our students and teachers have filled this building with life.

As we settle into our second full school year at 802 North Calvert, we are taking a look back at the joyful day that began this chapter of The Loyola School.

What a difference a year makes.

Who is celebrating the start of the school year with 100% attendance on the very first day?

๐Ÿ‘‰ This Principal!

Ms. Greta had plenty to celebrate as every elementary student showed up ready to learn, grow, and kick off a great new school year at The Loyola School.

Now that is what we call a strong start! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ“š

We are incredibly proud to share that our founder, Rev. William J. Watters, S.J., will receive the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice, a distinguished papal honor bestowed by Pope Leo XIV in recognition of extraordinary service to the Church.

For decades, Father has lived out a remarkable commitment to education, faith, justice, and the children and families of Baltimore. His vision led to the founding of St. Ignatius Loyola Academy, Cristo Rey Jesuit High School, and The Loyola School, creating opportunities for thousands of young people to learn, grow, and discover what is possible for their lives.

Here at The Loyola School, we have the privilege of seeing Father's vision continue every day in our classrooms, in our students, and in the community he helped build.
Father will receive this special honor from Archbishop William E. Lori on September 12 at the Baltimore Basilica.

Please join us in congratulating Father on this extraordinary and well-deserved recognition. We are deeply grateful for the faith, love, and unwavering belief in young people that have defined his life and ministry.

We also congratulate all 21 individuals being honored for their exceptional service to the Church and our community.

Archbishop William E. Lori will bestow honors from His Holiness Pope Leo XIV upon 21 members of the laity, clergy and religious of the Archdiocese of Baltimore for their service to the Church and community.
