Hello Slow Food Baltimore Book + Movie Club Members:
In January we had our first movie club meeting as a new chapter, with many of our new board members in attendance. We apologize for the exorbitant price of renting the movie Julia, which was issued just last year. In the future, we will keep the cost in mind for rentals.
We meet on the third Sunday of each month at 4:00 p.m., alternating between movies and books each month. With COVID-19 still rampant; we will meet virtually until the situation clears. On February 20, we will discuss: Untangling My Chopsticks: A Culinary Sojurn in Kyoto by Victoria Abbot Riccardi.
Here's a summary of the book which can be found at public libraries: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/306776.UntanglingMyChopsticks. The book contains many Japanese recipes. It's fun to share what we've cooked during our Zoom book discussions. Or, you could get take out sushi to keep in the Japanese theme.
We will send the Zoom invitation link a few days prior to the meeting date to all the SFB Book + Movie Club members. Keep an eye out for this link. While meeting via Zoom, no RSVPs are required. You can find all our upcoming titles for 2022 listed on the Book + Movie Club tab or Events page on our website slowfoodbaltimore.com. Please inform us if you would like to be removed from this list or if you would like to volunteer with us.
See you then,
Marlene Lesley
