I'm Opting Out too!
So now they are doing it, just announced on Channel 4 News. Facebook is charging all users starting Monday. You can do an opt-out by doing this. Hold your finger over this message and copy it. It can’t be shared. I do not give permission for Facebook to charge $4.99 a month to my account, also; all my pictures are my property of mine and NOT Facebook's!!! This May 30th will mark the 13th year we've been without my amazing girl Lauren Elizabeth Edgerton.

Lauren was only with us for 16 years, but how brilliant was she? She was the epitome of beauty, compassion, intelligence, and leadership.

She was a magnet, everyone was drawn to her. Her peers, educators, coaches, just everyone liked her and respected her. She was all action not all talk.

I started the Lauren Edgerton Foundation wanting to honor Lauren by making her ideas for Community Improvement a reality. Everything listed in the LEF Plans was all her. At 14 years old she identified problems people her age were experiencing and came up with a solution. Lauren's Place.

Well, over the years, with so many things shifting, and after moving to SC, The LEF became a daunting task. I became depressed realizing that it may not come to fruition.

Lauren had a soft spot for the homeless, and unbeknownst to me, she would walk from our house to the McDonald's on the corner of Rossville Blvd. and Belair Rd. (about 1.5 miles) with her own money, bought cheeseburgers and give them to the homeless people who frequented that intersection. She would also sit with them in the grass and spoke with them wanting to learn their story. It was in 2006 when she started doing that.

Fast forward to present day. I had to hit the pause button on The LEF, but through Rideshare on a Mission I feel like I'm honoring Lauren all the same. ROAM distributes Care Packages to the homeless and helps our Community in other ways as well. I wanted everyone to know all donations that were in the LEF account have been transferred over to ROAM to help with our Mission. If any LEF Donor does not feel this was the right thing to do, please DM me.

LEFs Motto is Love Keeps Us Connected, which is now being used with ROAM. Lauren believed this and so do I.

I still hope The LEF becomes a reality one day, but for now, ROAM is realizing a part of Lauren's desire to help our Community.
