MdVLA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting Maryland artists’ legal rights. We believe it’s our responsibility to stand up for artists who need legal representation. Meet Tess Russell, a volunteer attorney at Maryland Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts! Tess' journey back to her hometown in her 30s brought her new opportunities to connect with community and MDVLA is a part of that story.

🚀 Meet Thomas Mooring, an Anne Arundel native who practices his creativity through printmaking, dance, culinary arts, painting and now, interior design. Here's how working with MDVLA supported his expansion into new horizons:

Join us & Craft Emergency Relief Fund for a discussion on common legal issues that an artist might face when pursuing creative endeavors.

The goal is to empower artists to better understand legal issues related to their creative work and assess when the right time is to talk to an attorney for additional support.
