Harwood Community Association has teamed up with Baltimore City and are happy to offer a $10 credit towards your water bill for anyone that lends a hand. TLDR - one of our community members is awesome and made some yummy meals that were donated to the for our neighbors to enjoy from produce grown at HCG.

Long Version
Since Harwood Community Garden started, feeding our neighbors with homegrown fruits and vegetables has been one of our main objectives. We weren’t exactly sure what that looked like or how to accomplish that, but we started planting. We toyed around with the idea of running a CSA but the openness, accessibility, and size of our space proved that to be a pipe dream.

We now invite everyone one to come and partake of our garden’s bounty and enjoy the space. Our motto is “Take what you want, but eat what you take.” While thank yous from neighbors well picked plants let us know that people are getting food, we often wonder if there is more we can be doing for the most at need people in our communities.

Enter MJ, one of our fabulous neighbors that helps out at the garden. Multiple times this year she has made yummy meals from items harvested in the garden and donated them to the . It over joys us to see the garden harvest used in such a way. This has been an incredible growing season for the garden due in large part to our growing group of volunteers that is in the garden daily. We cannot thank them enough!

Lastly, if you are not familiar with or please tap in with these resources and help out where you can. I believe there are over 20 active fridge locations throughout the city so no matter where you are there is somewhere you can help or be helped.

It was lovely seeing so many neighbors in the garden this afternoon. We refreshed our greens beds with fresh starts supplied by and got a lot of general maintenance done throughout the garden. Forever grateful to all the volunteers that have the garden looking amazing this year!
