Meet Joey and Tanner —our lead mentors for the Roland Park after-school program!

They joined us at The Diamond Collective for mentor orientation, preparing to help students build skills, confidence, and leadership through our University Partner Program.

We kick off October 13, with sessions every Tuesday and Thursday. Thank you to Towson Baseball, Coach Liam Bowen, and our Roland Park partners!

We’re excited to announce a new partnership between BUBA and the Charm City Clippers — bringing together two organizations committed to developing better players, stronger leaders, and more opportunities for Baltimore youth.

Charm City Clippers leaders Adam Schlenoff and Matt Righter have both been strong advocates for BUBA’s work and are two highly respected baseball development coaches in our community. Their experience, leadership, and commitment to helping young players grow make this partnership especially meaningful.

This collaboration will create new opportunities for BUBA athletes to benefit from high-level instruction, mentorship, and additional development pathways while strengthening connections across Baltimore’s baseball community.

At BUBA, we believe the best way to grow the game is to work together. This partnership is another example of organizations combining resources, relationships, and expertise to create more opportunities for young people.

🥎 BALTIMORE CITY SOFTBALL FAMILIES — THIS IS FOR YOU.

Every Tuesday night at BUBA, student-athletes from UMBC Softball volunteer their time to help young softball players from across Baltimore City develop their skills, build confidence, and learn directly from college athletes.

Last night, just two young players made it out — Quinn Johnson of South Baltimore Little League/Baltimore Dragons and Braelyn Payne of James Mosher Baseball & Softball/Dante Parker’s team.

And because they showed up, they got something pretty special: an incredible amount of individual attention, instruction, encouragement, and reps from an awesome group of UMBC softball players led by BUBA College Athlete Mikayla Bryant.

For Quinn and Braelyn, it was almost like having their own private college softball clinic.

That’s exactly why we want more Baltimore City softball families to know about Tuesday nights at BUBA.

This resource is here. It’s free. The college athletes are here. The facility is here. The instruction is here.

We want girls from programs and neighborhoods throughout Baltimore City taking advantage of it.

Come learn. Come get reps. Come meet college athletes who are excited to help the next generation of Baltimore softball players grow.

Thursday nights are for getting better. ⚾

Gap 2 Gap Hitting Group, led by Kellen Wallace of Baltimore Phenoms, is bringing young hitters together each week at BUBA to learn, compete, and develop their game.

This is exactly what we want our facility to be—a place where great coaches, local baseball organizations, and young athletes come together to create more opportunity in Baltimore.

We’re excited to launch University Partner Nights this Fall at BUBA!
Starts this Monday 9/14 and Tuesday 9/15.

Starting next week, BUBA youth will have the opportunity to learn directly from college student-athletes through two weekly community training nights:

This one hits different. 🖤

Rahkeem Smith was one of BUBA’s earliest Scholar-Athletes, joining us back in 2017 and spending six years growing up in our program.

This week took a kickoff to the house for Georgia Tech.

From a young kid training with BUBA in Baltimore to making plays on the college football stage — this is what it’s all about.

We couldn’t be prouder of you, Rahkeem. Keep going.

The Baltimore Black Sox Sculpture Project is creating a memorial at Westport Waterfront Park for the Black Sox, who played home games at Westport Park from 1917 to 1920. About 10 life-size statues of Black Sox players will be erected in the 11-acre waterfront park being built in the Middle Branch of the Patapsco River, with the first three set to be completed by the end of 2028. The team competed in the Negro Leagues from 1913 to 1934, won the American Negro League in 1929, and had seven National Baseball Hall of Famers.
