We’re incredibly proud to share that Baltimore Urban Baseball Association (BUBA) has been selected as a grantee in the LISC x Foot Locker Foundation Community Empowerment Program.
LISC and the Foot Locker Foundation announced they’re deploying $1.26M in grants to 20 community organizations across 11 cities, bringing their total investment to $6.4M over five years—and we’re honored that Baltimore is included in this group of organizations doing the day-to-day work of building stronger, healthier futures for young people.
At BUBA, we see firsthand what happens when a young person has a safe place to go, consistent mentors, and a community that believes in them. Baseball and softball are the hook—but what we’re really building is confidence, discipline, leadership, accountability, and opportunity.
This grant will help us continue expanding access for youth and families who need it most—supporting programming that strengthens health outcomes, educational pathways, and long-term economic mobility right here in Baltimore.
Thank you to and the for investing in local leaders and choosing to stand behind community-based solutions. And thank you to every family, coach, mentor, donor, and volunteer who makes BUBA what it is. This recognition is a win for our kids and our city.
