We are proud to recognize Wesley D. Hawkins as the recipient of our Community Investment Award. As an educator, author, nonprofit leader, entrepreneur, and advocate, Wesley has dedicated his life to empowering underserved communities and creating opportunities for young people throughout Baltimore.

Through his work as CEO of The Nolita Project, his commitment to mentoring youth, and his leadership across community and civic organizations, Wesley continues to inspire transformational change and help individuals overcome adversity to reach their full potential.

For our 10th Anniversary Celebration, we will be honoring individuals whose lives and work exemplify the values of mentorship, leadership, advocacy, and service that align with the mission of I AM MENtality. We are especially honored to recognize Bishop Dr. Walter S. Thomas, Sr. as the recipient of the Monumental Mentoring Award.
 
Bishop Thomas is a distinguished leader, visionary, and transformational coach whose influence spans for five decades of ministry and leadership development. As Pastor Emeritus of New Psalmist Baptist Church, he faithfully served from 1975 to 2025, leading the congregation’s growth to more than 9,000 members and transforming ministry in Baltimore and beyond.
 
Beyond the pulpit, Bishop Thomas has dedicated his life to developing leaders and mentoring others to reach their fullest potential. Through his work as CEO of Changes Can Happen, LLC, his leadership coaching, authorship, and service to pastors and nonprofit leaders nationwide, he has invested in countless individuals whose lives and organizations have been strengthened by his wisdom, guidance, and example. His legacy of mentorship continues to inspire generations of leaders, making him a fitting recipient of this year’s Monumental Mentoring Award.
