Congratulations to our Spring 2026 Emerging Leaders I Cohort Graduates! One graduate commented, "The two most impactful things for me with this workshop were meeting new people in the industry that were passionate about growing and improving themselves and the actual leadership skills that I obtained during each workshop. These skills already feel so valuable to me moving forward in my position and career, and I am excited to continue to reflect on them and build my leadership muscles."

Thank you to our members for sending your emerging leaders to this program! Also, a big thank you to those that make this program possible; Wagmanfor your continued sponsorship of this program, our Board Chair Brandon M. for facilitating, Kenya Bryant, Executive Director at Ingleside at King Farm, for guest speaking on her career journey, and Keswick k for hosting us all.

We started the day with a discussion on Maryland’s response to an aging population featuring our keynote speakers: Jake Day, Secretary of the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD); Carmel Roques, Secretary of the Maryland Department of Aging; and Dr. Meena Seshamani, Secretary of the Maryland Department of Health.

Attendees then explored our expo hall, connecting with industry partners and discovering innovative products, services, and resources that support aging services providers across Maryland. The morning continued with engaging educational sessions focused on workforce development, leadership, operations, innovation, and strategies to strengthen aging services and better support older adults and their communities.

The afternoon featured keynote speaker Jack York, who shared powerful stories and reflections that remind us all of the importance of preserving elder voices, building meaningful connections, and recognizing the impact aging services professionals make every day. This was followed by our new deep dive sessions, designed to create space for more in-depth, collaborative conversations exploring how we are changemakers—and how we can continue to lead change in the aging services industry.

Thank you to everyone who joined us this year—we’re grateful you were part of it!

We wrapped up an incredible day at our annual conference filled with learning, connection, and inspiration. We were honored to hear beautiful performances from the Ingleside at King Farm Chamber Singers, who shared three lovely songs before our keynote session.

We then welcomed keynote speaker Dr. Anand Pandian, who shared thoughtful insights on community, empathy, and relationship-building and how we can better promote a culture of caring within aging services settings. His keynote challenged attendees to reflect on what it truly means to be a “good neighbor” and how we can foster stronger cultures of care and connection across aging communities.

The day continued with engaging sessions, a wonderful expo, and a great evening reception to close out a fantastic day together.

Looking forward to day two!

Kicking off our conference strong!

This morning Edenwald Senior Living resident Joan and Goucher College student Analese shared a powerful presentation exploring the impact of intergenerational collaboration through shared creative experiences. Their work highlighted how storytelling and artistic expression can foster mentorship, mutual growth, and deeper understanding across generations.

The energy is already building as attendees head off to the first two sessions of the day! Excited to see so many meaningful conversations, new ideas, and opportunities for connection happening throughout the conference.
