Saint Joan of Arc is a familiar figure in pop culture. We know about her heroism, immense courage and faith. But those that knew her personally spoke of her incredible kindness and charity towards the poor. Her heart made an impression on everyone she knew. Let us strive to live out our faith as boldly and bravely as Saint Joan of Arc on her feast day.

Six months after Hurricane Melissa battered the Caribbean, families in Jamaica, Haiti and Cuba continue to recover from one of the most powerful Atlantic storms in more than a century.

Making landfall on October 28, 2025, as a Category 5 hurricane, Melissa brought intense winds, severe flooding and landslides that damaged homes, disrupted livelihoods and strained already vulnerable communities.

We were able to reach communities quickly—something that would have been difficult without these trusted partnerships already in place. CRS and partners provided shelter materials, food, hygiene supplies and cash support during the critical first days and weeks after the storm, helping families find safety and begin the recovery process.
