Our CEO, Terri Holley, connected with Baltimore City Public Schools’ new CEO, Dr. Jermaine Dawson, to introduce HUT Early Workforce, Each Teach’s latest initiative designed to intervene earlier in the lives of Baltimore’s young people.

Informed by recent research across Baltimore’s Youth Economic Mobility (YEM) ecosystem, in collaboration with and led by the Annie E. Casey Foundation’s Baltimore Civic Site, HUT Early Workforce establishes a School-to-Workforce Pipeline that equips youth with brain-based social-emotional learning and additional human-centered power skills essential to thriving in an AI automation economy, and pathways to career development and advancement for upward socioeconomic mobility.

Also pictured is Dr. Phil Leaf, Professor Emeritus in the Department of Mental Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, who secured seed funding in 2020 to support earlier version of HUT’s research and development at its inception. Since then, Each Teach Inc. has strategically scaled the HUT model from a single intervention into multiple emotional-psychosocial interventions that promote holistic wellbeing and economic prosperity across Maryland.

Organizations are increasingly recognizing that attracting and retaining top talent while remaining competitive in an AI-driven economy requires investing in workplace wellness cultures that prioritize strengthening high performing human centered power skills and collective wellbeing.

Meaningful engagement is happening in our HUT Professional Development (HUT PD) at Maryland Department of Health (MDH), exploring organizational change and the neuroscience of leadership development and social-emotional wellbeing.

Stanley Andrisse, Ph.D., became a tenured Howard University College of Medicine professor after rising from a maximum-security prison.

His journey reflects a powerful transformation through higher education, resilience, and second chances. What was once described as unimaginable became real as he moved from incarceration to earning his Ph.D. and joining the faculty at Howard University, the nation’s only R1-designated HBCU. His story shows how education can open a path forward even after the hardest chapters of life.

Stanley Andrisse’s achievement matters because it reminds people that a past does not have to define a future. With hope, opportunity, and determination, a life can be rebuilt into something that inspires others to keep going.

Opportunity Youth are young people ages 18–24 who are out of school and work, and may also be justice-involved and disconnected from traditional support systems. We engage them in pathways to meaningful work, multigenerational upward mobility, and active participation in their communities.
