Contrary to what some representatives of our state say, those in support of SB0050 and/or HB0679 aren’t not interested in "Protecting the Children".

Wednesday 2/18 opposed two bills threatening to limit the ability for trans minors and female athletes to live their best lives. Advocates spoke against the transphobic ideas/rhetoric of the supporters of this bill that trans girls in sports during the SB0050 "Fairness in Girls Sports Act" hearing.
After that hearing (which happened mid day) HB0679 "Cross-Sex Hormone Therapy for Minors", (starting around 7:30PM) starting around where the supporters tried making their case for the harm thats caused were countered by facts, personal stories and the kind of empathy for others that only some of the most marginalized populations can have.

All in all, everyone was in Annapolis for about 9hrs. The world around us may be sh*tty but people writing testimony and testifying in front of legislators should give us all hope.

HB551 / SB327: End Paraphernalia Penalties, Decriminalize Safety
A common sense bill for community health & safety

Maryland’s paraphernalia law incentivizes unsafe behaviors that harm people who use drugs,
first responders, business owners, families, and neighborhoods. Ending all paraphernalia penalties is a proven, cost-free way to improve health and public safety statewide.
