April is Stress Awareness Month đź’™

Stress doesn’t always look the same to every person. For those individuals living with a solid organ transplant, it often lives beneath the surface. It can be the quiet worry before appointments, the daily scheduling of medications, or the emotional weight of protecting your health every single day.

For parents living with a solid organ transplant, the stress can feel heavy too. Balancing your health while caring for your children, showing up for their needs, and trying to stay strong through it all is a lot. And it’s okay to acknowledge that.

This month is a reminder:
💙 You’re allowed to slow down
💙 You’re allowed to feel overwhelmed
💙 You’re allowed to ask for help
💙 You’re allowed to prioritize your health
💬 If this resonates with you, you’re not alone. You are doing more than enough, even on the hard days.

What started as routine swelling turned into a life-changing diagnosis for Randy Ramey.

After being diagnosed with stage 4 cirrhosis caused by metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), Randy and his wife faced a series of life-or-death decisions that led them to Mayo Clinic. Over the course of his journey, Randy underwent multiple lifesaving procedures — including heart bypass surgery, a liver transplant, and later a kidney transplant.

His story is a powerful reminder of the impact of organ donation.

This Donate Life Month, Randy is sharing his experience to raise awareness and encourage others to consider becoming organ donors. One decision can save and transform lives.

A Texas man underwent three lifesaving surgeries including a double bypass, a liver transplant followed by a kidney transplant. Learn more.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 22, 2025) – When Debbie Coleman of Louisville was told she had stage 5 kidney failure, it was a bit of a surprise.

When doctors told Debbie Coleman her kidneys were failing, her world stopped — but her husband’s selfless decision set something remarkable in motion. Months later, a stranger’s gift and the work of the UK Transplant Center gave her life back.
