Last month, volunteers from Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Baltimore team spent the day engaging with members at our Brooklyn O’Malley and Webster Kendrick Clubs through a hands-on STEM experience.

Club members explored the science behind genetics and DNA and even got the chance to extract DNA from strawberries! 🧬🍓 Experiences like these make learning fun, spark curiosity, and introduce our young people to the possibilities of STEM.

What happens when an incredible group of 100 volunteers shows up ready to bring the energy for hundreds of Club kids? Summer Fest magic. 💙

From the moment our youth arrived, our volunteers made them feel like the stars of the day. The Hero’s Welcome was unforgettable—the cheers, high-fives and excitement on our Club kids’ faces said it all!

And the energy didn’t stop there. Our volunteers cheered kids on the field during dodgeball and flag football, embraced the Splash Zone fun, led yoga and dance parties, encouraged their creativity, served up snow cones and kept the joy going through every rotation. When the rain changed our plans, they jumped right in, stayed flexible and helped make sure our kids continued having an amazing time.

That is what community looks like: showing up, bringing your whole heart and making sure every young person knows they are celebrated, supported and surrounded by people who believe in them.

To every volunteer who helped make Summer Fest a day our Club kids will remember: thank you. The moments of joy and belonging will last far beyond one summer day. 💙

What happens when a young person steps onto a college campus for the very first time?

Possibilities become real. 💙

This summer, teens from Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Baltimore visited campuses including Morgan State University, Bowie State University, the University of Maryland, West Chester University, and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore—exploring classrooms, residence halls, student life, and future career pathways. For many, it was their first opportunity to experience college firsthand.

These weren't just campus tours. They were moments that sparked confidence, expanded perspectives, and helped our teens begin envisioning the futures they want to create.

At BGC Metro Baltimore, we're committed to preparing young people for success by providing experiences that inspire them to dream bigger and pursue what's possible.

Because every young person deserves the opportunity to see just how far they can go.

📚✨ Investing in Baltimore's future starts with showing up.

The 2026 Under Armour Rookie Class recently spent the day at the Baltimore Ravens Boys & Girls Club, packing backpacks with school supplies and connecting with Club members ahead of the new school year.

While every backpack was filled with essential supplies, the biggest takeaway was the encouragement, mentorship, and genuine connections our young people experienced throughout the day.

We're incredibly grateful to Under Armour for demonstrating what it means to invest in the next generation through service, leadership, and community.

Together, we're helping every young person start the school year with confidence—and a community that believes in their potential.
