Marymagdalen Hamilton
June 12, 1938 - May 26, 2017

Marymagdalen was a long time parishioner at St. Matthew and was an usher at 8:45 am Mass, a member of the Sodality, a member of the Liturgy Committee, and a member of the Matthew Players as our long-time usher and Board Member.

Marymagdalen Hamilton, 78, of Reisterstown, MD, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2017 at Sinai Hospital. Born on June 12, 1938 in Maryland, she was the daughter of the late C. Harold and Mary Elizabeth Costin Hamilton.
Marymagdalen retired from the Maryland Port Authority. She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church and was also a loyal patron of the local theatre.
She is survived by siblings: Catherine Didas, Ann Houchin, Amy Myers (Jim), Patrick Hamilton (Debbie), Patricia Casper (Bill), Richard Hamilton (Kathy), Francis Hamilton (Nancy), and Mary Tyrrell.
She was predeceased by a brother: Calvin Hamilton.

The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills, MD 21136.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 31, at 10 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment to follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg, MD.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the charity of your choice.

The Matthew Players will be holding auditions for "Forbidden Broadway" (rescheduled from this past spring) on Sunday, June 9th @ 7 pm in the St. Matthew Church Hall - 5403 Loch Raven Blvd. Baltimore MD 21239.

Show dates TBD in late September 2013

The Matthew Players will present "Just Desserts" by Craig Sodaro which is a murder mystery. The town judge is judging a baking contest which has three finalists. After tasting each of the three desserts, he falls down dead. It is up the audience and the head of the contest to figure out who did it. The shows are on Friday, October 19 at 8 pm, Saturday, October 20 at 8 pm and Sunday, October 21 at 3 pm. All shows will be in the St. Matthew Church LOWER HALL. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 years and under. Please come support the group and enjoy a fun evening! For tickets, call 410-668-4880.

The Matthew Players is looking to produce the one-act musical "The Thirteen Clocks" as its Spring Musical for its 59th season. It will run one weekend: Friday, April 13th through Sunday, April 15th.

We are looking for at least 4 men, 3 women, and a chorus aged 12 and up. We are requesting that anyone interested in being a part of this production please contact us via email by February 20th at [email protected]. We will be in contact with anyone interested after that date with further details.

Mike Franchetti (former participant & member of the MP Board of Governors) is directing the musical “Route 66” this spring at the Knights of Columbus Notre Dame Council (based on Homeland Avenue near Notre Dame Maryland University).

He is looking for 4 men for the cast; it being a musical, there is mainly music, not a lot of dialogue. If anyone is interested or knows of someone who might be, could you please contact him at [email protected] or 443-677-0084.

The show dates are Sunday, March 11, Sunday March 18, Saturday March 24 and Sunday March 25 and Friday, March 30. Thanks very much for any help you may be able to give him.
