St. Francis Neighborhood Center dismantles inequity by cultivating community connections through tailored education and social interventions for West Baltimore.

Francis Neighborhood Center is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3), community based organization in the Reservoir Hill area of Baltimore. Founded in 1963 as an outreach center for two local churches, the Center was incorporated in 1972 as a neighborhood nonprofit corporation, independent of any church affiliation. Since its inception, the Center has served as a a resource and catalyst for improving the lives of those in Reservoir Hill, and making Baltimore a better place. Our programs create an approach that builds self-esteem, personal strength, academic, emotional, interpersonal, social, and community development that work to address complex challenges in an effort to break through the cycles of urban poverty. In an average month, we serve over 300 adults, youth, and families. Francis Neighborhood Center has been the only enduring institution to serve this large and diverse community since the riots of 1968. Due to its unwavering dedication, the Center has become an iconic presence within the Reservoir Hill community.

Thank you to the team at Whole Foods Market Mount Washington for filling our Nourishing Our Neighborhoods van with fresh produce and pantry staples! Ours was one of 112 hunger relief events hosted by Whole Foods Market on Tuesday. Donations like this help ensure we have the resources to meet the growing need in our community.

We’re thrilled to announce the start of our annual Giving Tree campaign! 🌲🎁

Each year, this campaign matches generous donors with families with students enrolled in our afterschool programs to support the fulfillment of their holiday wish lists and help alleviate some of the financial burden of the season. ❤️

We're SO excited to share that one of our long-time students will be joining our team as our new Intern Program Lead after graduating earlier this year! 🎉 Troy excelled as an Igniter Intern and will be an incredible resource to our incoming cohort. Here's a little bit about him:

"Hello, I'm Troy! Most of you already know me, but I'm currently in my first year of college, majoring in Elementary Education. I am passionate about education and creating positive, meaningful experiences for students. As the Intern Program Lead, I look forward to supporting our interns, helping them grow as leaders, and continuing to make a positive impact on the students we serve."
