Before his induction into the Baltimore Orioles Hall of Fame, Chris Davis and his family stopped by the University of Maryland Golisano Children's Hospital to serve ice cream and spend time with our patients, families, and care teams.

The Davis family has long been champions of our children’s hospital. After one of their own daughters was born with a heart defect, Chris and Jill made an extraordinary gift in her honor to establish the Evelyn Kay Davis Congenital Hybrid Catheterization Suite, a comprehensive surgery center equipped to manage some of our most complex pediatric cases. During their recent visit, they had the opportunity to see firsthand the profound impact this space is having on our patients and families.

We’re grateful to the Davis family for their enduring partnership and extend our congratulations to Chris on his induction into the Baltimore Orioles Hall of Fame!

🍭 Generosity makes Camp Open Arms possible—and transforms an unforgettable week into a lasting source of confidence, connection and joy. ❤️

Now in its 12th year, Camp Open Arms gives children with limb differences a free, one-of-a-kind experience filled with friendship, fun and the chance to celebrate all they can do. This year’s Candyland theme brings campers together for dancing, a movie night with Trunk or Treat, and a special family outing to Hershey Park. 🍬🎉🎬🎢

Thanks to the generosity of individuals and organizations, families can participate at no cost—creating meaningful experiences, lasting friendships and memories that extend far beyond camp.

We are grateful to every donor and supporter who helps make this extraordinary experience possible. 💛

UMMS's Camp Open Arms is designed for children with limb differences to play in a supportive environment.
