Speaking of specifics - we're releasing the first iteration of Safety Rules for the UMBC HvZ Invitational! Please note that these rules are tentative, and additional information is likely to be added as we get closer to the event. You can check out our ruleset here:

Hello everyone!

Today was the conclusion of our Officer Board & Web Committee elections. We are more than happy to congratulate each of our winners and to thank all those who expressed interest in the positions. The position winners are as follows:
President - Charles Fox
Secretary - Luke Basom
Public Relations - Chris Goodwin
Web Committee - Kyle Mosier, Travis Amtower & Pat Gomes

The changing of boards will officially take place on May 1st.

Additionally, the treasurer & vice president position elections resulted in an informal majority of No Confidence, meaning that "Vote of No Confidence" won the most votes.

Moving onward from this, we will be holding a special election for the treasurer & vice president positions. If you are interested in the position, you must email the officer account with a statement on why you should be treasurer by Sunday, April 26th, at 12 pm. The special election will then be held from Sunday April 26th, until Sunday, May 3rd at 1 pm.

Please note that the Treasurer & Vice President positions are vital ones - in accordance with SGA standards, all university organizations must have a minimum of 3 officers, one being President, another Vice President, and the third, Treasurer. Without a treasurer and vice president, our organization cannot exist. We encourage the use of write-ins during this election only for serious candidates interested in the position, although do send your interest to the officer account before Wednesday to ensure a smooth election.

If this election results in a second vote of no confidence, the newly elected board will select a willing interim Treasurer and willing interim Vice President to fill the positions, with a special election to occur later per the club constitution.

Please take this special election seriously, and vote with your best interest for the club's health and longevity.

If you have any questions, contact us at any time!

Hello everyone!

We just wanted to let everyone know of a bit of a trip up on our part of things - due to moving a little too quickly, a few "write ins" on the voting page were removed some time last night. We encourage everyone to check their write-in votes (if cast) and to re-cast them if they were removed.

Overall, we the board highly encourage that everyone makes sure that all of their votes are marked properly, due to the website's unpredictability. You can change your votes at any time until 1 pm Sunday, when the election will close.

And of course, one final reminder to of course be respectful in your discourse with candidates and general conduct during election time. It is important that we, as an organization, set a precedent of respect between our players, especially in the eyes of the university, which holds a strong anti-bully/hazing stance.

We apologize for any inconveniences!

Hello everyone!

Elections will start today, April 12th. Typically elections start at 1 pm, however our committee is working on some things so the official start may be delayed - do not panic! You can vote using your account on umbchvz.com. Elections are for both the new Officer Board and for the semesterly Web Committee. Note: you must have attended and signed into at least 5 meetings this year in order to be eligible to vote. If you are not able to and should be, please reach out to us!

Our current candidates are:
President: Joseph Fusco & Charles Fox
Vice President: Nicholas Schaffer
Treasurer: Joseph Fusco & Charles Fox
Secretary: Luke Basom & Henry Denny
Public Relations/Recruitment:Chris Goodwin

Please note that no one person can hold the President and Treasurer position at the same time.

Our appointed Web Committee candidates are Nancy Bolton, Kyle Mosier, Travis Amtower, and Patrick Gomes. Unlike previously, the board decided to select 4 members this semester instead of 3.

Members - please send any questions you have for any candidates running to the officer account by tomorrow, Monday April 13th at 1 pm. We will then relay the questions to the candidates, and try to get the answers back to you by Tuesday evening.

Additionally, we are creating a temporary channel in our discord for more "live" Q&A for our candidates! If you would like to take part in this channel, please join our discord (invite can be found on our website - umbchvz.com). We encourage all of our candidates to scan this channel and answer any questions directed at them, if possible.

Elections will last for 1 week until next Sunday at 1 pm. The new boards will be officially put in place May 1st. If you have any questions regarding elections, please feel free to reach out!

Happy Easter & Passover!

Hi yall, I hope everyone is staying safe and doing well ❤️ As you may have seen in the UMBC email, campus has decided to keep classes online for the remainder of the semester. I know there's a lot of events people were looking forward to, and it's a sudden change for everyone to process. Unfortunately, we won't be holding any meetings for the remainder of the semester, including our annual Invitational that was planned for April 25th. Because campus wants to keep in-person presence to a minimum, this also includes unofficial games.

However, we will be continuing with spring elections online! If you have interest in running for a position (President, VP, Treasurer, Secretary, or PR) please reach out to the officer board at [email protected] with your interest! You can run for multiple positions and can hold any simultaneously except for President and Treasurer. Please let us know what you're interested in running for, as well as a short description of why. We'll be having our Q&A online, and are aiming to begin our voting period April 12th, with the officer board officially changing on May 1st.

From all of the officers, we're really sorry that we won't have a chance to meet again this semester. Please use this time to keep yourself and your loved ones healthy, and we can't wait to play again in the future!

Hey everyone, and happy almost spring break!! 😎

Tonight we'll be playing Raid on Dragon's Keep in Sherman 003 at 7 PM! We'll also be playing F**k Thine Ammo this Thursday at 7 PM in Meyer 030. If midterms are crushing you, stop by to let off some steam with us! (I know they're crushing me... 💀)

No officer meeting or Saturday game this weekend because of spring break! We'll be back to our regularly scheduled missions on Monday 3/23. After spring break, we'll also be holding a 4-night week starting 3/30! This just means we'll be having one-night missions Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday that week rather than the regular two. The theme for this 4-night is video games! If you'd like to create a mission for that week, please submit it to the officer email by 3/22 at 1 PM.

Finally, we've also got some rule updates! Highlights were sent out in the weekly newsletter; please let us know if there are any questions or confusion.

See everyone soon!! 👋
