Today was a wonderful and meaningful day at Hua Ian School as the children received new school uniforms, shoes, and rice for the upcoming school term. Seeing their smiles, excitement, and pride reminds us why these efforts are so important.

For many families in the rural communities of Northern Thailand, the beginning of a new school year can bring financial hardship. A new uniform, proper shoes, and basic food support help ease that burden and allow the children to begin the term with confidence, dignity, and hope.

We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to all of our generous donors whose kindness and compassion continue to make these programs possible. Your support reaches far beyond material gifts — you are helping provide opportunity, encouragement, and a brighter future for these children.

We also wish to sincerely thank our incredible Thai staff and local volunteers who work behind the scenes organizing, delivering, and caring for the children and families we serve. Their dedication and love for the community are at the heart of everything we do.

Together, we are making a difference — one child, one family, and one school at a time.

With gratitude,
Lanna Thai Children’s Fund

As a new school term begins in Northern Thailand, all of us at Lanna Thai Children’s Fund would like to warmly welcome the children back to both Huai Ian and Ban Mae Tam schools! 📚✏️

There is nothing more inspiring than seeing smiling faces, hearing laughter in the classrooms, and knowing these children are beginning another year filled with learning, friendship, and opportunity.

As we start this new term, we are also launching our School Uniform Drive for the children of Huai Ian School. Many families in the rural mountain communities struggle with the cost of proper school clothing and shoes, and we want to help ensure every child can attend school with dignity and confidence.

We are currently seeking sponsors for 15-20 school uniforms.

Each uniform package costs $25 and includes:
👕 School shirt
👖 Pants or skirt
👟 Shoes

For many of these children, something as simple as a uniform can make all the difference in being able to attend school comfortably and proudly.

If you would like to help sponsor a child, please send us a message or donate through our website.

Every donation, no matter the size, helps bring hope and opportunity to these wonderful children.

Thank you to all of our donors, supporters, and friends for continuing to stand beside the children and communities of Northern Thailand. ❤️

As Songkran draws near, I find myself thinking of all of you—our family, friends, and generous supporters—and feeling deeply grateful. I wish each of you a peaceful and joyful holiday.

In a world that can feel uncertain at times, this is a moment to slow down, reflect, and appreciate the many blessings we share. May we continue to lead with kindness, offer gratitude where it is due, and hold onto a shared hope for peace and harmony.

Over the past three years, Lanna Thai Children’s Fund has been able to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. None of this would be possible without your support, your encouragement, and your belief in what we are trying to do. Your kindness has carried us forward, and for that, I am truly thankful.

Looking ahead, we do so with hope—that we can continue to grow and reach even more children and communities in Northern Thailand, offering opportunity, care, and compassion where it is needed most.

Wishing you all a Happy Songkran, filled with renewal, joy, and many blessings. 🙏💧

The last week here and we are busy taking care of a few last minute details. Including new landscape and flowers for the pollinator garden.

Ten students at Huai Ian School were also awarded family grants this week. Megs scarves finally found their forever home! Oh, and the garden looks awesome!

We also received letters of recognition from both schools. This is quite an honor and proves that our work here is bearing fruit. We will continue to grow these relationships through the coming years.

It has been a very productive trip. Unfortunately leaving does not get any easier. I will miss everyone here and will be back soon🤎

What a fantastic celebration yesterday as parents and the community came together to celebrate Children’s Day at Ban Mae Tam School! 🎉

The day was filled with singing, dancing, and big smiles, made even more special by visits from local businesses and representatives of the provincial government. After the school events, everyone walked down the street to enjoy lunch and additional presentations kindly sponsored by a local business.

The children, along with parents and teachers, had a wonderful time, and the celebration carried on well into the evening. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make this day such a joyful and memorable success!

Yesterday was a real learning day as we traveled into the western part of Phayao Province to visit our friend Nuei. She lives in a small house by the river, surrounded by lush green mountains and jungle. We walked along the riverbank and found the perfect spot for a picnic. With the cool weather and clear skies, it was an absolute cracker of a day to be outdoors.

After lunch, Nuei showed us her coffee garden, and I was truly agog at the number of beans on the trees—simply incredible. We then traveled even farther up the mountain to visit a larger, old-growth mixed-use plantation. On one side of the road were rubber trees; on the other, coffee trees about 10–15 years old, growing almost sideways under the weight of their beans.

What really stood out was how everything worked together. Longan and durian trees provided shade, while smaller crops like sweet potatoes and pepper thrived below. This kind of mixed-use agriculture is a beautiful example of a symbiotic relationship with the land—and one that has paid off well for many farmers here in northern Thailand. 🌱☕

Just north of Chang Khom, the small village of Nah Noon is situated deep in the mountains. Yesterday afternoon, our team initiated party preparations at P Saet's jungle hut, 5 miles away from the village. We carefully prepared gift bags and cooked an assortment of food, featuring 6 kilos of chicken and 5 kilos of French fries, which are rare treats for the children. Their excitement was evident as they eagerly anticipated Santa's arrival and the gift distribution. With an attendance of around 50 children, exceeding last year's numbers, we felt grateful for the warm reception from the village elders and community, and we're seeing the positive impact of our efforts in northern Thailand. We're thankful for the opportunity to serve.

MERRY CHRISTMAS from all of us at Lanna Thai Childrens Fund!
