Have you ever wanted to change someone’s life? By giving the gift of reading to another, now you can!
Interested tutors must be at least 18 years old and should complete a Tutor Application Form, which can be found at: https://www.dyslexiatutoringprogram.org/tutors/prospective-tutors/. In addition, tutors must agree to a background check and should be available for an in-person or virtual interview.
Following the interview process, tutors should join us for our next volunteer tutor training course, which will begin on February 7, 2024. During the course, tutors will learn the strategies necessary to teach reading, writing, and spelling to our students. We offer this 30-hour, Level 1 Orton-Gillingham course for free to volunteers who commit to tutoring a student(s) for a total of 60 hours, or at least one hour per week.
Interested tutors should attend the following classes: *denotes virtual meeting.

Following completion of the course, tutors will be paired with a student. Tutors and students are encouraged to meet in one of our three fully stocked tutoring rooms at The Rotunda, or in any convenient public setting, such as a library, community center, or school. Tutors are never permitted to hold tutoring sessions at a student’s private home.
Think about where you might be without the ability to read. This is an incredible opportunity to truly change someone’s life.
