SCZ Action Alliance

SCZ Action Alliance Schizophrenia & Psychosis Action Alliance (S&PAA) is a global impact organization moving individuals, families, and policies forward to improve and save lives.

Parents for Care is a support organization for caregivers of persons with mental illness. As caregivers, we must perform in a thousand roles to assist our children, brothers, and sisters, or parents, with serious mental illness--navigating a system with no road map for illnesses that shut us out of assisting. We are here to offer an ear and perhaps some practical advice if requested. We know the i

solation a caregiver faces when the person being cared for is mentally ill. It makes your life unpredictable, and it can make socializing nearly impossible. We're here to offer friendships with other parents in similar situations. Join Us. We are for-profit, but that doesn't stop us from helping--
We run a thoughtful and educational support group for caregivers. We try to address the unique concerns inherent in the monumental task of caring for a loved one with severe mental illness. We offer the opportunity to apply for one-time monetary grants, to assist a family with practical concerns when bills are often overwhelming. These grants are donor-funded. We offer a selection of books and educational materials, articles and blogs, to read to assist in caring for your loved one with a serious mental illness. We offer a network of parents and caregivers who can relate to your concerns about disease management, parenting a young adult, or providing advocacy to an older relative. We try hard to bring you information that comforts and informs your situation. We offer you the chance to share your story with other caregivers and to hear about solutions they may have to common issues in this kind of caregiving. Read our FAQ sheet to find answers to some common questions caregivers have.
