Nothing says summer quite like a great book and a big smile. ☀️📚

We had the best time visiting campers at Herring Run, helping each child pick out books to take home and enjoy all summer long. Whether it’s reading under a tree, on the porch, or before bed, every book is another adventure waiting to happen.

What a beautiful evening in Wyman Park Dell! 📚🌳🎭

The Maryland Book Bank Bookmobile had an amazing time giving away free books before Chesapeake Shakespeare Company’s production of Romeo and Juliet. There was nothing better than seeing families, friends, and young readers browse for their next favorite story before settling in for a night of Shakespeare under the stars.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by the Bookmobile, said hello, and helped us spread the joy of reading. Events like these remind us that great stories, whether they’re found on a stage or in the pages of a book, have the power to bring communities together.

📚☀️ The Maryland Book Bank Bookmobile has been busy all summer long!

While school may be out, reading doesn’t take a vacation. This summer, our Bookmobile has been rolling across Baltimore, bringing thousands of free books directly to children through Recreation & Parks centers, summer camps, neighborhood Bookmobile pop-up events, and community celebrations.

Every stop is part of our mission to help prevent the summer slide, the learning loss that can happen when children don’t have regular access to books while school is out. By putting exciting, age-appropriate books into the hands of young readers all summer long, we’re helping kids stay engaged, build their home libraries, and head back to school ready to learn!

As we head into our busiest season of the year, we’re looking for lots of helping hands to keep books moving from our shelves into the hands of children across Maryland. Whether you’re a returning volunteer or it’s your first visit, we’d love to have you join us.
