Join us for the week of Prayer of Christian Unity, January 18 - 25, 2023. Central Mary Ecumenical Council (CMEC) will be hosting various denominations to explore their response to this theme, and/or introduce us to their faith, and/or engage us in prayer and/or praise of God. Our faith-filled denominations provide a rich tapestry on which God, the Word of God, and the Holy Spirit are woven such that all can be supported, encouraged, and celebrated. An invitation from the Maryland Network Against Domestic Violence for our interfaith and ecumenical partners.

Join us for the Interfaith Domestic Violence Coalition Conference - Advocating for Survivors through Faith, Justice, and the Law.

In situations involving domestic violence, victims often turn to faith to seek comfort. Frequently, domestic violence victims confide in faith leaders, and the initial reaction of the faith leader influences the decisions of the victim.

Appreciating the unique and important role clergy members serve in addressing the needs of and providing guidance to victims, the Interfaith Domestic Violence Coalition (IDVC) in partnership with the Governor’s Office of Community Initiatives engages and unites interfaith leaders, domestic violence experts, communities throughout Maryland to take a stand against domestic violence.

Take a look at this documentary created by one of our member judicatories, the Episcopal Diocese of Maryland's, Truth and Reconciliation Commission. The Trail of Souls: A Journey Toward Truth and Transformation has been created as a resource to help others in the Church to tell their own stories of truth and transformation. Take time to watch the story and learn more about what reparations means in the Diocese of Maryland and what it can mean in your home congregation, denomination or community. The CMEC supports an agenda of building Beloved Community, and racial justice and reconciliation.
