On May 22nd, we celebrated the 17th anniversary of B'More Clubhouse, cut the ribbon on our brand new elevator, and had a cookout. Despite the rainy weather, we had over 125 people attend!
We were grateful to have some of our elected officials in attendance, including Senate President Senator Bill Ferguson, Speaker Pro Tem Delegate Luke Clippinger, Councilman Zac Blanchard, and Councilman Jermaine Jones. The Mayor's Office of Recovery Programs was also represented by Director Elizabeth Tatum.
Our elevator was made possible by the generous support of France-Merrick Foundation, Middendorf Foundation, Francis Goelet Charitable Lead Trust, the State of Maryland via our District 46 representatives, and Peter and ChiChi Bosworth. Thank you all so much for making this critically important project possible. Our building is now fully accessible for our members, staff, and guests.
During the Senate President's remarks, he shared that the Clubhouse will be receiving new state funding to repair our roof and historic cornice on our firehouse building. We're thankful for the support and excited to get to work!
If that wasn't enough, we also hosted our first annual B'More Gives day, a one day online campaign where we had an ambitious goal of raising $10,000 to support our Culinary program. We were blown away by the remarkable support and easily surpassed our goal by raising $18,500!
The event was the perfect way to wrap up an exciting and eventful Mental Health Awareness month. Thank you to all of our friends and partners for making it such a special day!
