K9 MONA and Tracker Melanie awoke VERY early to drive a little over 2 hours to find a missing cat named Tiffany. We were intially concerned about rain, but it made for cool, humid tracking conditions.
Ramona scented up at the garage where the cat got out. Immediately she was off! She didn’t want to move further than 3 houses in any direction. We knew the cat was close, but we didn’t come across the cat on the track.
We devised an action plan. I told the client that their cat was likely trying to come back home in the middle of the night when they weren’t awake. They had a high quality security camera system. They also had about 10 feeding stations around their property and only two within camera view, so they had a hard time tracking what/who/when was eating food. The cat could have been lured to a blind spot!
Well, they got rain later.. and a lot of it they said! Sure enough, the cat moved to seek shelter somewhere safe nearby once the storm and they were able to safely recover her the next day!
