South Baltimore Community Land Trust is hosting a fundraising event next Saturday, April 18 from 11:00 to 2:30pm.

Harvest of Hope: Annual Thankfulness Gathering & Fundraiser is a celebration of community, connection, and shared purpose. This year, SBCLT is raising critical funds to support the development of the South Baltimore Environmental Justice Center, a vibrant gathering space where neighbors can access resources, education, and opportunities that strengthen South Baltimore.

Join them for brunch, mimosa bar, silent auction, dancing, and more — all while helping create a space that will serve generations to come. Together, we can harvest hope and plant the seeds for a brighter, more equitable future in South Baltimore!

Several resident leaders attended Morgan State University's community discussion and advocacy workshop! At this event, participants learned how to utilize the 311 system, make informed calls to elected representatives, and increase awareness of community resources.

To improve safety and transportation choices for school students, the Anne Arundel County Dept. of Public Works and County Public Schools are partnering on Safe Routes to Schools Accessibility Studies. These recommendations will impact 20 schools, including Belle Grove Elementary.

Join them to review recommendations to improve pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure! The project teams will be available to answer questions and hear your feedback.

There are several exciting opportunities and events coming up at the Farring Baybrook Rec Center!

The Athlete Leadership Mini-Series with the Maryland Special Olympics will be held on Tuesdays, April 7-28 from 10:30 am-12 pm, and Friday, May 1 from 10 am-1 pm.

Intermediate Pickleball classes will be held April 6-29th from 11 am-12 pm.

Maree G. Farring recently celebrated its ribbon-cutting ceremony alongside students, staff, families, community partners, and elected leaders, including Mayor Brandon Scott, Comptroller Brooke Lierman, and Maryland State Senator Bill Ferguson. GBA's CEO, Meredith Chaiken, was also able to participate in this ceremony!

The school now features a newly renovated annex and a new modular unit that will support learning and community for years to come.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at Maree G Farring Elementary/Middle School in Baltimore.

They provide food and shelter for migratory birds, clean the air, cool down hot days, and create a relaxing space for the community. To make this green space even better, Audubon is working with the Department of Recreation & Parks and local partners, and they would love your input! The Greater Baybrook Alliance is looking for leaders in the community who are willing and able to bring their time, talents, and financial resources to support the mission of the organization. If you are interested in a seat on the Greater Baybrook Alliance Board of Directors, please complete the nomination form and include a 1-page bio or resume.

Board members act as a steward of GBA to develop, report, and act on recommendations, matters, and affairs of the Greater Baybrook Alliance in pursuit of the organization’s goals and mission in a prudent and responsible manner.

The Board of Directors meets six times per year, in the morning on the 3rd Friday of odd months. They usually meet virtually, with at least one in person retreat per year.
