We had a wonderful day at the Robert I. Damie Race for Our Kids event at the Maryland Zoo on Sunday! Team RIAO/LBR/Batman, captained by Pediatric Liaison Marilyn Richardson, included many RIAO staff members and their families. Several amazing ICLL patient families’ teams raised significant donations for the Rubin Institute’s Save-A-Limb Fund. Join us in a shout out to the Magnolia Flowers and Adonis’ Army teams that joined Team RIAO/LBR/Batman among the top 10 fundraising teams!
Thank you to everyone who came out for the event, raised funds and made donations to support our patients with complex limb conditions. Thank you to everyone who helped make our Save-A-Limb Fund Night at the National Aquarium such a great splash! RIAO team members and patient families enjoyed delicious food, winning prizes, and seeing the aquarium’s spectacular Blue Wonders exhibit. Special thanks to all our staff who contributed such wonderful prize baskets. Together, we raised support to better the lives of ICLL patients with complex limb conditions.

Meet Magnolia, Dr. McClure's patient, who is the ICLL’s “Spokeskid” for the Race for Our Kids! Her team has been one of the top fundraising teams for several weeks now. Her mom, Maegan, shares, “The reason we chose to support Save-A-Limb is due to our daughter being diagnosed with fibular hemimelia… This truly hits home for us… Our Lord gave us such a beautiful gift and made her perfect just for us…. It’s important to us to support the cause and get the word out about fibular hemimelia.”
