a Life" It seems to be appropriate to watch with kids 10 & up due to the subject matter discussed. There is a strong moral that is showing up so far and I may post later to give my views on it.

We will have disappointments in our lives and let downs after another because ppl will fail u most of the time. Its just human nature unfortunately. We must teach our children coping skills to be able to effectively navigate through those storms. GOD will never fail us . His words are true. It never stops it from feeling hurt by the injustices of this world, but GOD is able and he will reign and prevail always. So dont worry dont fret the Lord will never and has never failed u . He will never see the righteous forsaken. To any youth or parent /guardian of children just remember your letdowns and obstacles are just a test for you to be strong and endure to the end and have an awesome testimony when its all said and done. Your futures are bright never forget Jesus Christ is the light. Stay focussed an keep your eyes on what your goals are. If you look away or down u may miss your blessing. This message was prompted by a personal experience, but praying that it is a blessing to anyone who reads it.

Today is Day 5 of Black History Month. In my classroom we have learned the following today :

1. Elijah McCoy 1843-1929 invented the Summertime Sprinkler/ Slip & Slides
2. George Washington Carver 1864-1943 invented the peanut. He discovered 400 uses for peanuts , soybeans, sweet potatoes and peacans.
3. Dr. Charles Richard Drew 1904-1950 realized that blood could be preserved. He is responsible for the Red Cross Blood Bank.
4. Garrett Morgan 1877-1963
Invented the traffic light.
5. Otis Boykin 1920-1982 invented the television that we use today for entertainment . It led to other electronic devices such as home computers, radios and the pacemaker.

Sharing such facts in my opinion creates a better appreciation for those listed above and more who paved the way to what we know as being true today in various disciplines and specialties throughout African American History.

Hello F/b fam and friends. I wanted to drop in and say thankyou to all supporters of the branch of Ministry of Outreach that is so within It Takes A Village. It truly does to be able to give our kids the best and be exposed to opportunities in their lives that can carry them a lifetime. I was talking with a friend and fellow parent the other day and we were discussing what true teaching is. I believe that Teaching is a gift that we all possess in a given area but when it comes to teaching effectively to make an impact. If you give a child all the answers and never give them the tools to be able to navigate through life and find the solution to a problem. You have not taught them you have made them dependent upon someone else making a way. We want our children to be independent and strong no matter what obstacles or challenges they face. If you sit down and work with them and really take time to show them the way they can take that with them a long way in life . " If you give a person a fish whenever they are hungry that will not help them when you are no longer there. If you teach them how to fish they will never be hungry." Be blessed and always be a blessing to another.

Just wanted to pass this information along to any interested parents of kids K-12 . A good friend of mine gave this info to me yesterday.
Prospective Students

Science, Engineering, Mathematics Aerospace Academy (SEMAA)

SEMAA Mission

The mission of SEMAA is to expose historically underrepresented youth to activities in the fields of science, engineering and mathematics, and to increase the number of these students enrolling in technology-related majors in college. Although SEMAA is committed to serving historically underrepresented students and their families, the program is open to all students.

The Program

SEMAA was established in 1993 by Cuyahoga Community College and the Nasa Glenn Research Center to increase the participation of the underrepresented and underserved groups, by utilizing a rigorous curriculum involving the study of science, mathematics, engineering and technology. SEMAA also strives to increase the success rates of K-12 students and develop partnerships to recognize and support students interested in these fields.

The Baltimore SEMAA

Morgan State University meets 8 consecutive Saturdays, for the fall, winter, and spring sessions and one-week sessions during summer. In class, students are actively engaged in hands-on, inquiry-based activities that allow them to learn by doing.

The Curriculum

SEMAA’s K-12 curriculum, drawing heavily on NASA research, focuses on national standards in mathematics and science.
