Yes, we see the irony.

We’ve never been particularly interested in raising children to follow the crowd.

We’d rather give them the time and space to figure out what fascinates them, what they think, what they can make, and who they’re becoming.

When that’s trending, we’ll take it ✨

Class of 2022 reunion tonight ✨

It’s pretty surreal to see these Waldorf grads now graduating from high school. We knew so many of them as young children, and four of these classmates have been together at Waldorf since they were 2! Suddenly they’re all young adults, driving 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺𝘀𝗲𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘀 back to school and getting ready to head off to college and whatever comes next.

And somehow, when they’re all back together, it feels like hardly any time has passed at all. 💙

Dickinson, UMD College Park, Ithaca, Towson, Goucher, Susquehanna, Berklee College of Music, and more are lucky to have them.

So good to have this crew back on campus. Congratulations, WSB Class of 2022! We’re excited to see where you go from here.

Not because teachers replace family, but because the best schools become an extension of it.

Children flourish when they’re surrounded by caring adults who know them well, celebrate who they are, and partner with the people who love them most.

If you agree, you may have just found your Village.

The first code Waldorf students write isn’t written in Python…it’s written in wool ✨

Coding and knitting have more in common than you might think; both rely on algorithms: a precise set of step-by-step instructions followed to produce a desired result. In that sense, a knitting pattern functions much like a computer program, the finished piece is its output.

Both require the ability to recognize patterns, follow sequences, anticipate what comes next, and solve problems when something doesn’t go as planned.

So long before Waldorf students sit down to a keyboard, they’ve already developed the habits of mind that great programmers depend on…and have a sweet pair of socks, scarf or sweater to show for it.

Not dissimilar to an affirmation, the morning verse helps students begin the day with intention, unity, hope, and strength ✨

It’s a shared moment that sets the tone for a day of engaged hands-on learning and gives children meaningful language that supports character, will, and care for others.

And it’s not just for students! Faculty and office meetings here to, open with a carefully chosen verse to set the tone for our collective work.
