In 2025, the Black Arts District has sponsored 157 creative events and activities — from open mics and art fairs to workshops, fashion shows, and community collaborations.
Each program represents the enrichment of  Baltimore’s creative economy and the people who shape its cultural identity.

This impact would not be possible without the generosity of our funders: ❤️🖤💚

The Mayor’s Office of Recovery Programs ($1,000,000) and The Mellon Foundation ($500,000). 💰

Your continued support allows us to expand opportunities for Black creatives — transforming vision into visibility, and talent into thriving careers. 💼 👩🏽‍🏫👩🏽‍🎨👩🏾‍🎤👩🏾‍🍳👨🏿‍🏭🧑🏿‍🔬👨🏽‍💻

Together, we’re not just building stages; we’re building Baltimore’s creative future. Thank You!💫

This direct support was paid to Black Creatives via our Creative Community Sponsorships, Emerging Artist Fellowship, Creative Internship and Project Restore events. We look forward to continuing our support of arts and cultural production across Baltimore City in 2026!

At a time when mass erasure and white supremacist acts are abundant we want take a moment and honor Indigenous People’s Day.

We recognize the shared experiences of colonization and displacement, alliances against common oppressors, and shared lineage among us.

We are thankful for their stories, their perseverance, their beauty. Asé
