DREW PUTZEL CREATIVE ART PROGRAM
Developed as part of Itineris Inc.’s programming in 2012. The program was made possible by a generous donation of the Putzel family and friends (30k total) and named in Drew’s honor. Drew’s Story:
Drew Putzel passed away tragically in May of 2012. Drew was a remarkable young man with many creative talents. Drew worked with his hands creating art from the time he was a young boy. As an adult, Drew utilized his incredibly creative talents to become one of the youngest, most successful producers for some of the top commercials, which can still seen on TV today. Drew would have loved this program as it brings joy, enthusiasm and creativity to all of Itineris’ clients. It is a meaningful and loving tribute, as well as a living legacy to his life. Drew’s love of art will live on through this program. The program today:
The Drew Putzel Creative Art Program serves as both a recreational/therapeutic opportunity for creative exploration through a variety of art mediums. It also provides our clients with vocational training opportunities through a series of art related micro-businesses. These micro-businesses provide artisan training and opportunities to engage and be a productive part of the local art community. They also provide a host of embedded vocational skills that can be transferred to numerous other employment opportunities.
