TYIA is a 501(c)(3) organization specializing in youth foster care support.

At Transforming Youths Into Adults, our mission is to change the landscape of homelessness for youth in foster care with connections to community support, life skills, education, and access to wraparound permanent housing services. We aim to help our most vulnerable youth transition into society as independent adults. Founded by owner and Executive Director Kareen Hill in 2019, we provide a wide r

ange of community integration services for youth aged 18-24 throughout Maryland. In addition, Director Hill, an MSW graduate, is the proud owner of a Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program. TYIA's youth and young adults will also have access to PRP services while participating in our non-profit programs.

This is more than just a performance—it’s a chance to expose our youth and families to the arts, culture, and diversity in a meaningful and memorable way.

As many of you are aware, rising prices have made it even more difficult for low-income families to maintain food stability. Through our new community partnership, T.Y.I.A has an opportunity to bring real relief to the families we serve—but we can’t do it without your help.

We’re seeking dedicated volunteers to assist with sorting, bagging, and delivering food items to families in need. Your time and compassion can make a lasting difference for parents and children who are struggling to meet their basic needs. Together, we can ensure that no family in our program goes without food or hope.

Good Evening Family & Friends,

I’m reaching out with a heavy but hopeful heart, asking for your support. Recently, I met an elderly gentleman from Delaware whose story truly moved me. Without going into deep detail, he has endured the unimaginable loss of his only child — a 17-year-old daughter who tragically passed due to a fentanyl overdose connected to trafficking. This heartbreaking loss led him into a deep depression, and he has since found himself without stable housing.

As I assist him in navigating housing resources, he is currently in urgent need of basic essentials. If you’re able to contribute, he could greatly use:

Underwear: Size 32–34

Shirts: Men’s Medium

Pants: Size 32–33

Shoes/Boots: Size 11–12

Hygiene Products

Bedding

Any additional items you feel may help

Every gesture, no matter how small, will make a huge difference in restoring dignity and hope to his life. ❤️

I don’t often share personal acknowledgments or successes, but today I feel compelled to share something truly special.

Yesterday, our organization, Transforming Youths Into Adults, was honored by the Horseshoe Casino and presented with a check in the amount of $7,571.80.

It wasn’t just the generous amount that moved me — it was the how and why. We didn’t apply for any funding, yet someone within their management team saw it fit to nominate our organization as a beneficiary. To be recognized without solicitation is a powerful reminder that even when you work in silence, your impact can be heard loud and clear.

This moment reignited my drive and affirmed that the work we do matters — and people are watching. On behalf of our entire organization, I extend a heartfelt thank you to the Horseshoe Casino for being a beacon of support in our community and for believing in our mission.
