Papa Lebas & Gumbo Ya Ya makes their majickal return to the Rams Head On Stage in Annapolis, MD on Tuesday, 11/10 at 8 PM to celebrate multiple album releases, beginning with the band’s debut album, "Naptown to NOLA," which will be available for the first time on vinyl. In addition, three band members have recent albums: New Orleans piano master and Kenny Wayne Shepherd sideman Joe Krown’s "Qualified," International Zydeco Ambassador Corey Arceneaux’s "Accordion Man," and multi-reed instrumentalist Seth Kibel’s "Clarinet Without a Net." But the celebrations don’t end there, as every Papa performance is a party.

Led by songwriter, producer, guitarist & bassist Jeff Muller (aka Papa Lebas), the project is a New Orleans-inspired earthy gumbo of funk, R&B, jazz, blues, zydeco, Cajun, brass band, and more—and a love letter to the power of community. Papa Lebas & Gumbo Ya Ya was launched last year with the album "Naptown to NOLA" which features 63 performers from Louisiana and the DMV including such notable musicians as Ivan Neville, George Porter Jr., Bill Summers, Chubby Carrier, Tommy Malone, Ron Holloway, Tommy Lepson, Deacon John, Leroy Jones, and many more.

Like last year’s show, this one will feature a high-powered band of all star performers at the top of their game bringing the songs from the albums, along with other New Orleans gems, to life. Joe Krown is making the trip up from New Orleans for the show, joining some of the DMV’s finest and favorite musicians: Louisiana native Corey Arceneaux, Rahsaan “Wordslave” Eldridge (Honest Lee Soul), Meg Murray (Songbird Collective, Cyphers Band), Doug Woolverton (Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Beginnings), Seth Kibel (Daryl Davis Band), Chris Watling (The Grandsons, King Soul), Noah Pierre, Matt Tebo (Shari Puorto Band), and perhaps a special guest or two.

Nick Moss is coming to Live at Hub City Vinyl, located at 28 E. Baltimore St., Hagerstown MD, on Thursday, November 12th at 8 PM! Since first forming The Nick Moss Band featuring Dennis Gruenling in 2016, master blues guitarist Nick Moss and world-class harmonica virtuoso Dennis Gruenling have become torchbearers for traditional electric blues. But rather than simply repeating what’s come before, the band’s high-energy take on old school Chicago, Texas and West Coast sounds is completely their own. With their new Alligator Records release (their third for the label), Get Your Back Into It!, Chicago native Moss and New Jersey native Gruenling—together with Rodrigo Mantovani on bass, and Pierce Downer on drums—deliver a deeply rooted, timeless blue collar blues album.

AllMusic says the band, winners of the 2020 & 2024 Blues Music Award for Blues Band Of The Year, “makes the case for the vitality of old-fashioned Chicago electric blues in the 21st century.” They are among the world’s very best old school blues ensembles, with each musician expertly playing off the others. “We are a rare breed as far as how authentic we like to keep the music, while also keeping it up-to-date and exciting,” says Moss.

Among many awards and recognitions the band has received, Nick Moss garnered the 2019 Blues Music Award for Best Traditional Blues Male Artist. The band took home Blues Music Awards in 2020 for Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Band of the Year. In 2024 the band received the prestigious Band of the Year honors again from the Blues Music Awards. Bandmates Dennis Gruenling and Rodrigo Mantovani have been nominated multiple times in their respective categories for instrumentalist harmonica and bass. Dennis also received the award for Best Harmonica Instrumentalist in 2019.

27 year-old acclaimed singer, songwriter, and guitarist, Quinn Sullivan is coming to Live at Hub City Vinyl, located at 28 E. Baltimore St., Hagerstown MD on Sunday, 11/8 at 7 PM.

Born and raised in New Bedford Massachusetts, Quinn grew up in a musical household listening to classic rock, jazz and blues. Quinn credits his early obsession with The Beatles as the impetus for him to pursue music as a career. He received his first guitar at the tender age of three and quickly demonstrated exceptional talent. He gained national attention with appearances on afternoon and late night television shows (Tonight Show, Ellen, Jimmy Kimmell, and Conan O Brian). In 2007, Quinn met music legend Buddy Guy, who invited him onstage and would later invite him to tour and record with him throughout the next decade.

Over the years, Quinn has evolved from a remarkable young talent into a mature, emotive artist known for blending blues, rock, and classic influences. His discography includes multiple albums, with his fifth release, "Salvation," recognized as his most personal work, exploring themes of loss, love, and resilience. He has been praised not only for his exceptional guitar skills but also for his songwriting, drawing inspiration from both his musical roots and his own life experiences.

On Monday, 12/7 a blues supergroup consisting of Tony Holiday (vocals/harp), Laura Chavez (guitar) and Jad Tariq (guitar) will be performing at Morsberger's, 713 Frederick Rd in Catonsville, MD beginning at 6 PM. This show's gonna be a blast, folks! You don't want to miss these accomplished musicians!

There’s something about Tony Holiday that draws people together. In fact, community has been at the core of Holiday’s young career from the beginning. Since relocating from Salt Lake City to Memphis in 2017, Holiday has been at the center of a soul blues revival in Memphis, anchored by a contingent of young, savvy well-schooled musicians with a “family-like” attitude and a strong belief in one another. Mentored by past legends, Holiday and this loose Memphis collective are building on the city’s rich traditions and carrying them forward.

Laura Chavez was born and raised in Mountain View, California, Laura Chavez is an American blues, soul, and rhythm & blues guitarist, songwriter, and record producer whose playing feels both deeply rooted and warmly personal. Grounded in Texas and Chicago blues traditions, classic and modern, her guitar work carries a melodic touch that slips effortlessly between all these genres. Chavez has collaborated with a wide range of artists, including Deborah Coleman, Candye Kane, Dani Wilde, The Mannish Boys, Big Daddy Wilson, Mike Ledbetter, Monster Mike Welch, Vanessa Collier, Casey Hensley, Whitney Shay, and Chickenbone Slim & The Biscuits. Those partnerships have shaped her sound and built a reputation for tasteful, expressive lead work and thoughtful production.

Jad Tariq, a Memphis-based Rhythm & Blues guitarist/vocalist, is making waves on the national music scene. Tariq’s take on the traditional soundscapes of American roots music is a breath of fresh air, as he pays homage to the classics of yesteryear, while also incorporating a modern sensibility. Jad's guitar style seamlessly blends feel-good swing with the raw emotional intensity of the blues. His vocal style is in the tradition of the blues shouters and big-band crooners of the ‘40s and ‘50s. Jad has garnered national attention through collaborations with multiple Blues Music Award-winner John Nemeth, renowned musician Tony Holiday, and legendary harmonica master Charlie Musselwhite. Most recently, he earned the prestigious honor of joining Bob Dylan's touring band for a series of dates.
