Baltimore Trash Fairy

After 6 years and hundreds of miles, I finally got a New (to me) pair of trashwalkin' shoes. But why do they sound like I'm walking on glass? Any suggestions to resolve this below.

Some mornings, the Baltimore Trash Fairy® sets out expecting a battle against litter and neglect. Today was not one of those days. In fact, the streets were so remarkably clean that there was hardly a piece of trash to be found. And honestly, that is the kind of victory every Trash Fairy loves to see. It was a reminder that when a community takes pride in where they live, the whole city shines a little brighter.

But the morning still had an adventure in store. Along the route, I discovered a wallet lying abandoned on the sidewalk. It belonged to a young man who had unknowingly lost it while out walking his dog earlier that morning. Sadly, every dollar of cash had already vanished, but everything else remained intact. After a little detective work worthy of a fairy tale quest, I was able to track him down and return it. The look of relief on his face was worth far more than the missing money. Today wasn't a story about picking up trash. It was a story about a city that was cleaner than expected, a neighbor helping a neighbor, and a small act of kindness proving that Baltimore's greatest treasure isn't what we find on the streets, but the people who call them home

Of all the things that people throw away, money is my favorite. "Take care of the pennies and the dollars take care of themselves".

Which one should I scratch first? These are ALL purchased from the cash that I found from picking up TRASH!

March 5, 2026 will mark 6 years that I've been out there doing daily walks (almost...sometimes I have to travel out of town). Then I realized that I've been doing this a bit longer than that.

Although I haven't been very vocal about it. I HAVE been active about it. My New Year's resolution is to inspire others to keep tending the garden. This year has been a tremendous improvement over the last few years. The community is REALLY "picking up" and making my job easier every day. Let's work towards my retirement.

Just a reminder of what "tending the garden" can do for a community.
