💜 Today is . Elder abuse and intimate partner violence (IPV) are more closely connected than many people realize. While elder abuse can be committed by anyone, it is often perpetrated by someone the older adult knows and trusts, including a spouse or intimate partner.

Older survivors of IPV, and those facing additional vulnerabilities due to disabilities or health concerns, may experience unique barriers to seeking help, accessing resources, and reaching safety.

Learn more about the intersection of elder abuse and IPV by exploring our Professional Guidance Sheet:https://healthanddv.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/NEW-Elder-Abuse-Professional-Guidance-Sheet.pdf

Happy Pride Month! Though we've come far, there is still much work to do to ensure access to intimate partner violence services and proper medical care for LGBTQ+ victims. Creating safer communities starts with affirming and supporting every survivor.

💜Yesterday, the Coalition hosted its Annual Forum, bringing together hospital-based domestic violence program staff and other professionals working at the intersection of health care and intimate partner violence to connect, learn, and support one another.

This year's forum focused on trauma-informed care through a community care lens, exploring how supporting one another can strengthen teams, improve well-being and health outcomes, reduce burnout, and help us navigate the challenges facing the field together.

Not everyone is pictured here, but we are incredibly grateful for this dedicated group of professionals and for the passion, expertise, and commitment they bring to this work every day.
