💙 Every survivor deserves to feel informed, empowered, and supported when seeking health care.

Our "How to Advocate for My Own Best Care" webpage is designed to help survivors prepare for appointments, communicate their needs, and take an active role in their care. If you're a health care professional, advocate, or other professional, this is also a great resource to share with the survivors you support.

✨ We're excited to launch a new support group beginning this August!

This new virtual space is for women who have experienced intimate partner violence and now work in the domestic or sexual violence fields.

Supporting others while continuing your own healing can be both rewarding and challenging. Join a community of women who understand the unique experience of balancing this work, navigating burnout and compassion fatigue, setting healthy boundaries, and finding connection with others who relate.

Learn more about this group and explore all of our survivor support groups at: https://healthanddv.org/resources-for-survivors/support-groups/

💜 July is Disability Pride Month!

Disability Pride Month honors the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and recognizes the importance of creating communities where everyone can participate fully.

People with disabilities experience intimate partner violence at disproportionately high rates and often face additional barriers when seeking safety and support. As professionals, we all have a role in providing accessible, trauma-informed, and survivor-centered care.

To support your work, the Coalition has developed a Professional Guidance Sheet on supporting survivors with disabilities, which offers practical strategies and key considerations for working with survivors. Find it here:https://healthanddv.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Survivors-with-Disabilities-Professional-Guidance-Sheet.pdf

🌿 We want to share a resource available for survivors of intimate partner violence who speak Spanish.

The Coalition's partner, Dr. Estefanía Simich Muñoz, facilitates the Educational Health & Wellness Support Group in Spanish, offering a supportive space to focus on healing, connection, and overall well-being for survivors.

If you know someone who may benefit from this resource, please help us spread the word by sharing this opportunity.
